The Loc University is an educational platform only. Nothing on this Platform constitutes legal advice, tax advice, insurance advice, medical advice, or financial advice. No content, course material, lesson, coaching call, or communication from The Loc University, Tyericka Pippins, or any affiliated instructor creates a professional-client relationship of any kind.

Completion of any course or program on this Platform results in a Loc University certificate or credential only. The Loc University does not issue state-recognized cosmetology licenses, barbering licenses, or any government-issued professional credential. Students are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the licensing and regulatory requirements of their own state, county, and municipality before offering any services to the public.

When you use the Platform, we may collect the following categories of information:

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Full name and display name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Mailing address
• Date of birth (where provided during registration)
• Payment information (processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers)
• Username and account credentials
• Profile photo or avatar (if uploaded)
• Course enrollment preferences and learning history
• Communications you send to us via email, contact forms, or in-platform messaging
• Responses to assessments, quizzes, self-assessments, and assignments within courses
• Portfolio submissions (for Practitioner, Professional, Master Techniques, and Master Loctician credential assessments)

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

• IP address and approximate geographic location derived from IP
• Browser type and version
• Operating system and device type
• Pages visited on the Platform, session duration, and navigation patterns
• Referring URLs (where you came from before arriving at the Platform)
• Course progress and lesson completion data
• Login timestamps and access history
• Cookie and tracking data (see Section 10 below)

3.3 Payment Information

All payment transactions on the Platform are processed by Stripe or other third-party payment processors. The Loc University does not collect, store, or process full credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or bank account information directly. Payment data is governed by the privacy policy of the applicable payment processor. We receive limited transaction confirmation data (last four digits, transaction ID, billing name) solely for record-keeping and customer service purposes.

3.4 Communications Data

If you contact us by email, phone, or through any Platform communication tool, we retain records of those communications, including your name, contact information, and the content of the communication, for customer service, compliance, and dispute resolution purposes.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Delivering course content and program materials, tracking your progress, and issuing completion certificates and credentials

• Developing new courses, tiers, and educational content

• Sending educational content, course announcements, and community updates
• Sending promotional communications about new courses, programs, and offers, where you have consented to receive them
• Contacting you about your account, subscription, or cohort participation

4.4 To Protect Our Rights and Your Safety

• Detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse of the Platform
• Enforcing our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy
• Complying with applicable law and responding to lawful requests from government authorities
• Protecting the rights, property, and safety of The Loc University, Tyericka Pippins, and other users

4.5 For Business Operations

• Internal record keeping and financial accounting
• Issuing receipts and invoices
• Managing affiliate and referral program tracking
• Evaluating and improving our instructional content and outcomes

For users located in jurisdictions with data protection regulations that require a stated legal basis for processing personal data (including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Canada), we process your personal data on the following bases:

The Loc University does not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 Service Providers We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, processing payments, delivering email communications, and analyzing platform usage. These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only to provide services to us and may not use it for their own purposes.

Current categories of service providers include:

• Learning Management System: LearnWorlds (platform hosting and course delivery)
• Payment Processing: Stripe or applicable processor
• Email Marketing: Kit (ConvertKit) or applicable email service provider
• Video Hosting: Applicable video hosting platform
• Analytics: Applicable web analytics provider

6.2 Legal Requirements We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

6.3 Business Transfer In the event that The Loc University or its assets are acquired by or merged with another entity, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such transfer and given the opportunity to request deletion of your data prior to the transfer taking effect.

6.4 With Your Consent We may share your information with third parties when you have explicitly consented to that sharing. For example, if you earn the Master Loctician credential and consent to being listed in the public Master Loctician Directory, your name and credential status will be displayed publicly on the Platform.

6.5 Aggregated and De-Identified Data We may share aggregated, de-identified information (such as total enrollment numbers, completion rates, or demographic summaries) that cannot reasonably be used to identify any individual, for research, marketing, or industry purposes. 

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with access to courses and programs you have purchased. Specifically:

• Active account data: Retained for the duration of your account and subscription
• Course completion and credential records: Retained indefinitely to support verification of earned certificates and credentials
• Payment and transaction records: Retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with applicable tax and accounting requirements
• Communication records: Retained for up to three years for customer service and dispute resolution purposes
• Inactive account data: Accounts with no login activity for thirty-six consecutive months may be deactivated. You will be notified by email prior to deactivation.

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, subject to the limitations described in Section 11 below.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

8.1 Right to Access You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

8.2 Right to Correction You have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

8.3 Right to Deletion You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (such as retention required by law or necessary to complete a transaction you initiated).

8.4 Right to Opt Out of Marketing You have the right to opt out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at the address in Section 14.

8.5 California Residents (CCPA) If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14.

8.6 How to Exercise Your Rights To exercise any of the rights listed in this section, please contact us at the email address listed in Section 14. We will respond to verified requests within thirty days. We may require you to verify your identity before processing your request.

The Loc University is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

For users between the ages of 13 and 17, we recommend that a parent or guardian review this Privacy Policy and the Platform's Terms and Conditions prior to enrollment. The Beauty and Business Pathways workshop program, which serves students in educational settings including high schools, collects participant information only through the host school or organization, subject to the school's own privacy and FERPA compliance obligations.

If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 14 and we will take prompt steps to delete that information.

The Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and support platform functionality.

10.1 What Are Cookies Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and store certain information about your preferences and activity.

10.2 Types of Cookies We Use

• Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the Platform to function, including session management and login authentication. These cannot be disabled.
• Functional cookies: Remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience.

The Loc University reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by applicable law, provide you with notice of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform.

Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any changes, you must discontinue use of the Platform.

This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from or related to it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under or related to this Privacy Policy shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
